Obituary of Marcia Hege

Marcia "Marcy" Hardee Hege, 58, of Cary, passed away Thursday morning, October 4, 2012 at her residence.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family will hold a private entombment following the service at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 -2:00 p m. Tuesday, prior to the service.

Born February 21, 1954 in Johnston County, NC, Marcy was the daughter of the late Morrison Hardee and Corene Hardee Yelvington.

Marcy is survived by brothers Dewitt and Brian and her devoted husband of 34 wonderful years, Joe H. Hege, III; and son, Dylan Hege.

As a proud Duke graduate with a degree in Public Policy, and Economics, Marcy held multiple positions in association management, including President/owner of Association Alternatives serving multiple non-profit associations; followed by Executive Director of International Focus-promoting culture awareness, culture understanding and the Raleigh International Festival. Marcy was current President of the Raleigh Garden Club and a board member of the Women's Club of Raleigh. First and foremost, Marcy was a loving wife, mother and friend who will truly be missed by all who knew her.
