Obituary of Margaret Pace

Lou Pace went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 1, 2009. She was born in Franklin County, NC, the eldest child of the late Howard and Reca Massey Tant of Pine Ridge Community.

She loved people, enjoyed talking with everyone and pursued a career in telephone communications. Lou and Horace were members of Emmanuel Baptist Church since its beginning in 1950 and she supported her church through many activities.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Horace S. Pace; sons, Bob Pace and Tim Pace of Raleigh; daughters, Dianne Charter and husband Russ of Sneads Ferry and Kathy Keith and husband Larry of Cary; grandchildren, Alex Kelly and husband Jimmy of Chicago; Alicia Pace of Austin; Brandon Keith of Apex and Christopher Keith of Cary; brothers, William Earl Tant and wife Frances of Knightdale; Ronnie Tant and wife Faye of Bunn; sisters, Carolyn Register and husband H.J.; Dot Bissette and husband John; Frankie Smith, all of Raleigh; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles H. Tant and H. Darnell Tant; sister, Phyllis T. Jones.

Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Montlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund, 2100 Noble Road, Raleigh, NC 27608.
