RALEIGH

Margaret Campen Poole, 86, of Raleigh died on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Wake Medical Center. She was born at Rex Hospital on December 12,1935 to Howard Brookes Campen and Ruth Leavister Campen. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Louis Edwin Poole, her son, Louis Edwin Poole, Jr., her sisters Bette Lassiter, Judy Stephenson, Sonja Collins and her brothers Howard Campen, Robert Campen and Thomas Campen.

A lifelong Raleigh resident, she attended Needham B. Broughton High School and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Gail Poole Simmons (Dolan), her grandson, Louis E. Poole III (Samantha), special friend, Bill Poole and daughter in law, Amy Butler as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside funeral service will be Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 3:00 pm, Montlawn Memorial Park 2911 South Wilmington Street in Raleigh. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Raleigh NC.
