Marian was born in Hamlet, NC.  She was the daughter of Ethel Boyd Harrill and Carl Creighton Harrill.  She had 1 sister and 4 brothers.

She married William James Monroe, Sr June 6, 1941.  They started their family in Hamlet with their daughter, Jeanne and their son, Jimmy and then moved to Raleigh where Kim was born.

Marian had 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren she loved dearly.

She was a Wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,daughter, sister, aunt and a friend to many.
