After graduating from Athens Drive Senior High School in Raleigh and East Carolina University in Greenville with a BS in nursing, she has a distinguished 30 year career at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Marian was a dedicated, hard working, and compassionate nurse who touched the lives of everyone she met. She was the kind of person who always opened her heart and home to all who knew her. Marian was the person you could always rely upon and share anything with. Some of her favorite things included being an avid reader, sitting under her umbrella at the beach with some pretzel rods and a good book, and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Westbrook, her children Heather Bui (Kevin) of Clayton, and Phillip Westbrook of Raleigh, her brother Douglas Phillips (Susan) of Raleigh, and her grandson, Harrison Bui. She is also survived by her three precious dogs, Coco, Daisy, and Bailey.
