GARNER

Marie Coffey (87) went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 29, 2021 after battling an extended illness. She was born in Durham County, on June 14, 1934 to Charles and Evie Belle Phipps. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her brothers, Bob Phipps, Roger Phipps, Herbert Phipps; sister, Peggy Smith, and her beloved husband of 61 years, Bob Coffey.

She is survived by her brother, Perry Phipps and wife, Pat Phipps; son, Robert Coffey and wife, Roxanne Coffey; grandchildren, Robey Coffey and Dani Johnston and husband Matt Johnston and great grandchildren, Reina and Asher; her daughter, Nancy Massey and husband, Ken Massey, grandchildren, Derrick Massey and Beverly Massey and great grandchildren, Bella and Serena; daughter, Joni Wells and grandchild, JoJo McIntyre and great grandchildren, Bryce and Dallas; and daughter, Barbara Worrells and grandchild, Jamie Worrells.

Marie and Bob married in 1954 while Bob was in the US Marine Corps. She traveled with him to numerous states while raising their family. She was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed arts and crafts and was an accomplished seamstress. She was known by hundreds for the wonderful, heartfelt cards she would send for all occasions.

She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, great grandma, and friend and will be truly missed by everyone whose life she touched.
