Obituary of Marie Sollars

A Celebration of her Life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday in the Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

A native of Wake County, Marie is survived by her husband of 32 years, Johnny Sollars; son, Harold Robert Choplin, Jr.; daughter, Tara Heath; step daughter, Michelle Burgon and five grandsons, Tyler, Robert Ray, Malachi, Tillett and Caleb; her mother, Louise Johnson of Raleigh; sister, Sandra Johnson; brother, Wayne Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by her father, David Johnson.

Marie had a passion for teaching children and served in several day cares for many years. She was very passionate about her family and friends. Marie loved cats and had a collection of them that covered her home. She was a member of Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church in Clayton, a former member of Calvary Baptist in Raleigh and was a 1972 graduate of Enloe High School. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandsons.

Marie was very dedicated to her family and will be greatly missed by all who loved her so dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Marie and her father or to establish a trust fund for her grandsons at Wells Fargo Bank, 18 S. Main Street, Wendell, NC 27591.
