Marie Long Tutor went to be with the Lord on Sunday May 11,2025.She passed away peacefully at her home in Raleigh, NC. She was born on February 19,1933 in Brunswick County, NC to the late Marshall Long and Otance Simmons Long. She was proceeded in death by her husband Ennis Albert Tutor Jr. and siblings Cornelia Ross, Wilmer Long, and Coy Long.

A memorial service will be conducted at Montlawn Memorial Park & Cemetery on Friday May 16,2025 at 12:00pm with a viewing on Thursday May 15,2025 from 4pm to 7 pm & also on before the service from 11:00am - 12:00pm.

In 1950 Marie moved to Raleigh, NC to attend St. Mary's School and began working at State Capital Life Insurance shortly there after. This is where she met the love of her life, E.A. They were married on February 20,1954. She retired from State Capital  in the 60's to become a full-time mom, but returned to work  at Durham Life Insurance Company ( which acquired State Capital Life Insurance) in the 70's. She continued working into the early 80's before retiring. She loved gardening, especially her flowers and houseplants ( lots & lots of house plants. Marie also loved visiting shut-ins and people in retirement homes. She was very active in her church, which she was one of 3 founding member left. Marie leaves behind 2, sons Anthony Duane Tutor of Raleigh, NC and Tony Mark Tutor of Cornelius, NC, and one grandson Justin Tutor also of Cornelius, NC. Instead of flowers, MOM would like a donation made to the Alzheimer's Association
