Obituary of Marlana Lewis

Dr. Marlana C. Lewis, 66, of Garner, died Wednesday morning, February 24, 2010.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Marlana always kept Pittsburgh near and dear to her heart. She was a professor at the University of Pittsburgh, and an Elder at the Bethel Presbyterian Church, but her family always remained her true love.

Marlana is survived by her husband, William H. Lewis; children, Marcie Collie, her husband Lou and their children, Caroline Elizabeth and Jacqueline Louise, all of Raleigh; Tiffany Driggers, her husband Jon and their son Spenser Bean of Four Oaks; and Jordy Lewis of Garner; sisters, Sharon Danner Pittinger, Deb Bean-Guinto, and Barbara Bean Mellinger, as well as many extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Tillie Bean.
