Marsha Ann Wicker Wilson, 88, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born in Sanford, North Carolina on November 13, 1936, Marsha was one of seven children of the late Dockery Gaston Wicker and Heloise Kesler Wicker. Marsha was preceded in death by her husband Jack, parents, and brothers, Allen, Edward, Robert "Buck" and John Wicker and by sisters, Mary Lou Frazier and Constance Kay Wicker.
A wonderful mother, daughter, sister and aunt; lovingly remembered by her son, Jon Sean Wilson and wife Debra, of Wake Forest; by her niece, Doris "Ann" Wicker Warren and husband Michael, of Wake Forest; by her great niece, Melondy McCaul Carranza- Sanchez her husband Rudy, and children Caelan, Killian, Michael and Elizabeth of Wendell; her niece Linda Pendergraft of Holly Springs, NC; and her niece Brenda Mabini and husband Tony of Holly Springs, NC two great nephews – Christopher and Dustin, two great-great nieces and one great-great nephew.
Marsha grew up in Sanford and Clayton. She and her family moved to Cary, where she graduated from Cary High School in 1955. She then moved to Raleigh to begin her work career at the NC Secretary of State's office. She worked in various other State Departments until her retirement in 1996. She was an avid NC State fan, and a long-time member of St. John's Baptist Church on Oberlin Road in Raleigh, NC.
One of her passions throughout her life was selling Avon, allowing her to make many wonderful memories and cherished friendships.
