Obituary of Martha Wayner

Mrs. Martha Glazener Wayner, 93, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the Goodwin House in Falls Church, VA.

Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Montlawn Memorial Park.

Mrs. Wayner was a graduate of Meredith College and earned her Master's Degree in History from Mars Hill College. She, along with her late husband, owned and operated Wayner's Jewelers in Iowa City, Iowa and she later worked as a sales representative with Garcia Imports. Mrs. Wayner was a past National President of the Reserve Officers Ladies Association (ROAL) and was granted lifetime membership and she was a member of The Church of the Good Shepherd (Episcopal) in Raleigh.

Mrs. Wayner was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Joseph George Wayner, USAF (retired) and her son, Richard Lee Wayner.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Wayner Lambeth and her husband Jim of McLean, VA and a sister, Madge Cooke of Raleigh.
