Mary Jane (Jane) Bolin, 88, of Smithfield, NC, loving mother, and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.

Jane was born January 13, 1928 in Akron, Ohio. She was a Home Economics and English teacher in the Summit County, OH school system before raising her family. After moving to Raleigh, Jane worked at the NC Hospital Association followed by her service to the State of NC as a research assistant in the Governor's Office. Jane was an avid bridge player, fisherman and animal lover.

Jane is survived by her daughters, Deborah Bolin Goerlich (Aaron) of Bethesda, MD and Pamela Bolin Pope (Benny) of Smithfield; two grandchildren, John Bolin Goerlich and Cara Gates Goerlich; two step-grandchildren; three great step-grandchildren and many loving friends.

A celebration of Jane's life will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 3:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church, 215 South Third Street Smithfield, NC, 27577. The family will receive friends immediately in the Fellowship Hall following the service.
