Mary "Bunny" Brown, 90, went home to be with her Lord after a brief illness. Bunny was born in Raleigh, NC to Roy and Nell Pool. She was born in Rex Hospital hours apart from her beloved husband Linwood Alton Brown, Jr. They enjoyed 53 years together before his passing.
Bunny graduated from Hugh Morrison High School and Peace College where she completed her art studies ,a lifelong passion she enjoyed. She was a loving mom who cared deeply for family, friends, and neighbors. She served faithfully in the circulation department of the Biblical Recorder, the NC Baptist State paper for 25 years before retiring in 1996. She and Linwood were lifelong members of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Raleigh where she lovingly taught in the children's department for over 50 years.
Bunny was preceded in death by her husband Linwood, as well as her parents Roy and Nell Pool, and sister Anne Pool Cox.
She is survived by her two sons and their wives Linwood Brown III (Lynda) of Cornelius, NC and Greg Brown (Delia) of Mechanicsville, VA. She is also survived by her brother Dr. Roy R. Pool, Jr. (Bettye) of Bryan, TX and a special niece, Cindy Cox Triplett (John) of Pleasant Garden, NC.
She lovingly answered to Grandma Bunny by grandchildren Liz Hunter (Travis), Chris Brown (Madalyn), Courtney Lewis (Josh) and Carey Brown along with four great grandchildren.
The family would like to express gratitude to Ranson Ridge Assisted Living, Huntersville, NC and Spring Arbor of Apex, NC for kindness and love bestowed to our Mom.
A Memorial service to celebrate Bunny's life will be held July 23rd at 2pm followed by a private interment at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC. Family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service. In remembrance of Bunny's life, the family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 8304 Leesville Road, Raleigh, NC 27613.
