Obituary of Mary Capaforte

Marti Capaforte departed this life June 17th for her next journey, with the same dignity and courage that she demonstrated through her battle with melanoma. She has forever changed the lives of many.

Marti, the daughter of Larry and Pat Hoyt, was born and raised in Durham, NC. She graduated from Northern High School, on to East Carolina University graduating with her Masters degree in 1994.

Shortly before graduating, she met and later married the love of her life, Tony Capaforte.

Marti's career was a P.E. teacher in Wake County at Lufkin Road Middle School in Apex. Her passion was teaching and watching children learn to grow and become young adults.

Marti is survived by her husband, Tony, their children Garrett and Taytem of Garner, NC; her parents, Larry and Pat Hoyt of Hillsborough, NC; her sister Dr. Michelle Hoyt Watkins, husband Mark and children Dylan and Davis of Marietta, GA; aunts, uncles and many cousins that loved her dearly.



Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Keith Amos of UNC Cancer Hospital. He began as a doctor but quickly become a devoted friend. Dr. Frances Collichio for all her care and concern through these months.

There will be a Celebration of Life Sunday, June 24, at 4 pm at Garner United Methodist Church, 201 Methodist Dr. Garner, NC 27529 The family will receive friends after the service.

At Marti's request, the service will be casual dress. No coat/ties or black dresses, as she was a casual person. Children wear your sports jerseys, parents please be casual.
