Obituary of Mary Coleman

Mary Cecelia Coleman, age 65 of Sanford died January 17 at her sister's home in Cary. She was born June 25, 1949 to Jack and Adeline Coleman in Marshall, Minnesota. She received degrees from Southwest Minnesota State College, the University of Washington and Franciscan University of Steubenville. She was a nun in the contemplative order of the Visitation of Mary for several years. After leaving the order she worked as a librarian in public and academic libraries in Georgia, Ohio and North Carolina.

Her faith was the guiding principle of her life. Mary was an active participant in her church as a cantor, Eucharistic Minister and choir member. She taught Bible study classes and offered spiritual direction to all who sought her guidance.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her brother James. She is survived by her brother Jack and his wife Val, her brother Jeff and his wife Deb, her sister Becky Danninger and her husband Tom, her sister-in-law Shirley and nieces and nephews.

Her funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on January 21 at Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Apex. Her family will receive friends in the church foyer from 10:00 to 10:45.
