Mary Nell Davis, 66, of Raleigh, NC, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Transitions LifeCare.

Mary Nell was born in Winston-Salem, NC to Hobart and Dura Davis on July 18, 1953. She graduated from William G. Enloe High School in 1971 and began her 35+ year career with Occidental Fire and Casualty.

Mary Nell will be remembered as a loving mother and sister, devoted partner and loyal friend. Her kindness towards others was palpable and she touched all those with whom she interacted. Mary Nell loved traveling the world and though she loved the beach, her biggest passion was her family. She never passed up a chance to spend time with them, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Mary Nell is survived by her loving partner of 15 years, Hank Brannan; daughter, Casey (Ryan) Roten of Apex, NC; brother David (Harriet) Davis of Greenville, NC; nieces Angie Reeves, Sheila Gamelin, Amelia Davis; nephew Chip Davis; 9 grandchildren; great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Hobart and Dura Davis; her sister Sandra Norton; her daughter, Kendra Davis; her grandson, Devin Wall; and former husband, Doug Davis.

Mary Nell was loved deeply and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is forever in our hearts, never to be forgotten.

A celebration of Mary Nell's life will take place at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh on Wednesday, February 12, 2020. Visitation will begin at 12:30pm. A memorial service will be held directly after visitation and followed by a graveside service at Montlawn Cemetary. Mary Nell will be laid to rest near her daughter, Kendra, and her sister, Sandra.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Transitions LifeCare at 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC. The family of Mary Nell wishes to thank her long-term healthcare provider, Dr. Mark Yoffe, along with the nurses and caregivers of Transitions LifeCare who provided loving care during her final days.

A visitation will be held from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC  27603, with a funeral service to follow in the Montlawn Funeral Home chapel.
