Obituary of Mary Jane Holt

Mary Jane Vaughan Holt, 79, of Raleigh, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 7, 2009 after many years of declining health.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Montlawn Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mary retired from Corning Glass Works and AVX Corporation. She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, William F. and Elizabeth A. Vaughan; her husband, Dewitt Holt; sisters Pearl Phipps and Dorothy Wooten and her brother, William F. Vaughan.

Mary is survived by her children, Mary Stroup (Joe), Rebecca Denton (Larry), Clifton Holt, (Marlene) and Linda Hamilton (Tony).

Also surviving are eight grandchildren and their spouses; seventeen great grandchildren; sisters, Frances Gilliam and Virginia Whitaker and a brother, Floyd Vaughan.
