MARY ELLEN LEWIS JONES, age 86, earned her angel wings on March 24, 2022.
She was born in Pawhuska, Oklahoma and was the daughter of an Assemblies of God minister.
Her parents were Forrest Maynard Lewis and Opal Alta Hawken Lewis. She was predeceased
by her parents, her brother Forrest Lee Lewis, her sister June Marie Robinson, and her
husband, Hyman Curtis Jones. Her two children are Vickie Diane Hawkins (Malcolm) and Curtis Duane
Prior (Dena). She has two grandchildren, Cameron David Prior and Jessica Mary Prior.
She worked for many years and retired from the North Carolina Department of Correction.
A private graveside service will be held for the family on Monday, March 28, 2022, at Montlawn
Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Fairview Fire
