Mary Nell Atkins Mundy, 83, of Smithfield, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, December 7, 2022. Mary was born May 9, 1939 a daughter of the late Luther and Marjorie Atkins. Along with her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Jerome Bruce Mundy, and her brother, Jarvis Dwight Atkins.

She was a Wake County native and graduated from Broughton High School. Mary worked and retired 30+ years for Nationwide Insurance Company. She loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her brother dearly.

Mary is survived by her two daughters: Teresa Naef (Jeff) of Cary and Beverly Davis of Clayton; grandchildren: Brooks Davis (Rufi) of Wendell, Brandon Davis (Rachael) of Beaufort, Morgan Davis (David) of Clayton , Jeffrey Naef Jr. of Littlefield AZ, Brittany Naef of New Bern ; and eleven great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.
