Obituary of Maxine Senter
Maxine Mabel Senter, 66, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011. Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends on Friday evening at Montlawn Funeral Home from 6p.m. until 8p.m. Maxine worked hard all her life. She worked with her father on the family farm, and then opened up a service station, "Lake Wheeler Grocery". She was a member of the Burlington Senior Citizens Softball Team called the "Why Nots", which was very successful. She managed the Lake Wheeler apartments and several of her rental properties, after the death of her brother-in-law, Wade Cummings, she and her sister continued to operate their family auto shop business. In 2006, she was diagnosed with cancer and fought the disease with bravery and grace. Maxine is survived by her sisters; Barbara S. Cummings, Ann S. King, nephew, Royal Mark David " Henry" King, niece, Sandra Baker, great- niece, Megan King, great-nephews; Mike Dupree, Chris Dupree, and Shawn Dupree and their families all of Raleigh. Her special canine companion, "Misty" and a host of several friends as well as her softball teammates.
