Obituary of Mayfield Watson

Mayfield (Nancy) Lamm Watson, 91, died peacefully at her home on Friday, March 22, 2013. She was a native of Aurora, NC and was founder and co-owner of Watson Apartments. A loving wife and mother of nine children, she was a Christian lady who was a member of Brooks Avenue Church of Christ for over 60 years.

Surviving are her daughters, Ann Fair, Betsy Rose, Rose Black, Ada Sorrell and Gail Johnson all of Wendell and Mae Cruz of Knightdale; son, Olen Watson, Jr. of Raleigh; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Olen Watson, Sr.; a son Roy Watson; an infant daughter; 4 grandchildren; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March25, 2013 at Montlawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 pm Monday prior to the service.
