Michael Howard Cecil aged 65 went home to be with his LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 1, 2021. He was born in Marion, Indiana on August the 15 th , 1955. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Hargett Morris.
He served in the US Navy from 1975-1979 on the US Nimitz Aircraft Carrier. He was a faithful employee, as he worked in the IT industry. The last three years of his life Michael served as an employee at NGK Ceramics. Michael was also an ordained Minister who specialized in grief counseling. He was passionate about people, and their needs. He had a warm and welcoming personality that embraced those around him as family. He went back to school at the age of 56 at Liberty University Online. He graduated in 2012 with his Bachelor's in Religious Studies. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was also a loving father in law, as well as a good friend.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Dorcas Brooks Cecil. His legacy continues through his children Andrew, Kara, and Jonathan, his son-in-law Steven Millard Jr. and granddaughter Eliana Millard. He is survived by his sister Judy Parker, and his brother Greg Harrison.
The family has chosen to have a private family-only viewing.
There will be a graveside service held at Montlawn Memorial Park Funeral home in the Whispering Waters Garden section. Thursday January 7, 2021 at 10am. Pastor Scott Reeves will be officiating the service. All are welcome. In respect for the CDC guidelines you must wear a mask, and there will be social distancing.
