Michael Paul Colo, 34, passed away at his home unexpectedly on February 27, 2019. Visitation will be held at Montlawn Funeral Home March 7, 2019 from 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM with a celebratory memorial service following directly after. Michael will be laid to rest in the peaceful Whispering Waters Garden at Montlawn Cemetery. Michael was born in Columbia, MO to John Colo and Kathleen Smith. Michael moved to Raleigh, NC in 2006 and started his culinary career. Michael, the perpetual wild child, loved riding motorcycles, meeting people with similar interests, and being in the middle of all the action. Michaels love for pets was always on display especially with his best pal Rocky, his pit bull who was always by his side for the 11 years they shared together. Michael touched many people's lives with his infectious smile and warm friendship.

He is survived by his parents Michael and Kathleen Smith of Fuquay Varina, John and Diane Colo of Columbia, MO; loving sister Jennifer Nichols; maternal grandparents Winston and Molly Baugh; aunt Molly A Baugh; uncle and aunt Daniel and Sarah Baugh; cousins Jessica, Elizabeth, Danielle Baugh and April Getzelman. He has a large extended family and many close friends he considered family.
