Michael Alonza Plummer was born on February 10, 1961 to the late Dorothy Elizabeth Peacock Plummer and James Willard Plummer.  Michael (Mike as he is affectionately called) passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, NC.

Mike was educated in the Wake County Public School System. Mike accepted Christ at an early age at Johnston Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Clayton, NC. Mike worked many years as a custodian for ITT and North Carolina State University prior to being diagnosed with kidney failure at age 39.

He married Robin Barbour and became the step-father to his beloved step-daughter Latasha Barbour.

Mike was truly one of the funniest people you will ever meet. He had a huge imagination and enjoyed making up stories and telling jokes. He was a natural comedian. His imagination led him to be inquisitive about how things were put together and how they operate. As a result, his curiosity led him to disassemble and reassemble appliances, furniture, fixtures, etc. There was no repair or mechanical job that was too complicated for Mike. He also enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He will truly be missed by all.

Mike leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his sister, Sharon Denise Plummer of Austell, GA; step-daughter Latasha Michelle Barbour of Fuquay-Varina, NC; three grandchildren, Stephanie Warren, Zyrah Warren and RaSavior Scarboro of Fuquay-Varina, NC; two nieces; Deanna Plummer Coates (Xavier) of Wahiawa, HI and Jasmine Plummer of Charlotte, NC, two uncles; Wilbert Peacock and Robert Peacock of Raleigh, NC; four aunts; Lula Mangum, Loretha Peacock (Loving Guardian and Caretaker), Mattie Drayton all of Raleigh, NC and Hokey Wiley of Cary, NC, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy Elizabeth Peacock Plummer and James Willard Plummer and his brother James Gregory Plummer.

Services will be held at 11am on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 2911 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603. A visitation will take place one hour before the service. Social distancing and face masks are required.
