Obituary of Michael Roemig

Michael Joseph Roemig, 68, of Raleigh, passed away at his home Tuesday morning, July 17, 2012.

A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 - 11:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the service.

Born June 27, 1944 in Lehigh County, PA, Michael was the son of the late William Wesner Roemig and Marie Fisher Roemig. Michael served in the United States Marine Corp for six years. You could always count on Michael to give help when needed while being non-judgmental at the same time. There was never a dull moment while he was around and he always had the last word. Michael was straight forward, humorous, and everybody's friend. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Connie Roemig of Raleigh; daughters, Tammy Daskaleas and husband Jimmy of Kansas City, MO, April Roemig of Kansas City, MO, Michelle Wolf and husband Patrick of Lafayette, CO, Susie Newbanks and husband Rob of Garner, NC; son Michael Roemig, Jr. and wife Andrea of Kansas City, MO; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Rosie Snyder and husband Frank, and Barb Hower and husband Larry, all of PA; niece, Laurie; and nephews, David and Wayne.
