Obituary of Michael Wilks

Michael J. "Wilkie" Wilks, 47, of Apex, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at his home.

A Celebration of his Life will be held 4 p.m. Sunday in the Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.

A native of Rowan County, Michael was born November 21, 1965, the son of the late Aaron Anderson Wilks and Dorthy Phillips Wilks as well as his sisters who preceded him in death, Clairetta Pruitt and Anise Robenson.

Michael was an avid Wolfpack and Dallas Cowboys fan, he loved bowling and was a karaoke extraordinaire. Most importantly, Michael will be remembered as a big man with an even bigger heart.

Michael is survived by his brother, Aaron Anderson Wilks, Jr.; step mother, Shirley Wilks and his best friends and "family" in Raleigh, Paulette Disbrow, Rebecca Look, Trisha Pluckhorn, Ronnie and Cheryl Hicks, Brandi Allred and Davion and Chance Allred.
