Obituary of Nancy Gallagher

Nancy A. Gallagher, 76, died December 28, 2013 at her residence. She was born February 26, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA to Edward and Edna Achuff.

She was a graduate of Collingdale High School in Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania and was employed for many years as a research chemist at Union Carbide and Rhone Poulenc in the agriculture products division.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband John E Gallagher and brothers, Charles R. and Richard W. Achuff.

Surviving are her step-son, John K. Gallagher; sister, Grace E. Closs of Raleigh; brother, Robert E. Achuff and wife Anne of Clearwater, FL; sister-in-law, Ethel Achuff of Media, PA; nieces, Diane Closs, Beth Baksi (Gary), Jean Costello (Ed), Susan Supplee (Kevin), Kristyne Nichols (Tim), Leslie Scanlon; nephews, Charles Achuff, Jr. (Sara), Bruce Achuff (Helen), Keith Achuff, James Achuff (Barbara Jo), Frank Achuff (Beth); and her dear friends Steve and Martha Derbyshire, Frank and Cheryl Andrassy and many others including her special cat Grady.

Nancy was a member of Benson Memorial United Methodist Church, where her memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 11, 2014.
