Obituary

Naomi Dobbin Badger, "Nuke" as she was affectionately called, daughter of Jessie and Beatrice Jones Dobbin (deceased), born in Johnston County. Naomi departed this earthly life on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

Naomi was educated in the Johnston County Public School System, where she attended Short Journey Public school. At an early age she joined Willow Springs Missionary Baptist Church along with her mother, father and siblings.

Naomi married her friend and business partner Edward "Ed" Lewis Badger" February 4, 1966, they had been married fifty-four years at the time of his death.

Naomi was employed by ITT for many years and as time progressed Ed and Naomi put their strengths together and started a successful business: "Quality Manufacturing Sheet Metal Company." They gathered the children and moved to Cary, NC in 1979 as the family worked tirelessly to make the business a successful family affair. They employed people in the surrounding area and several family members offering them successful career opportunities.

Naomi was a fabulous woman as she took on the role of the family matriarch. She and Ed believed in helping family and friends and loved to
bring them together. She would plan Christmas and family dinners, hosting in her home or renting spaces to accommodate celebrations for memorable times of fellowship. She and her sister Williemae (the baker in the family) set a menu for full course meals with beautiful flowered centerpieces and fancy serving dishes and trays. Everything was immaculate with decorations fit for kings and queens. During the Christmas season the trees were decorated and designed with individual family members names on mailboxes with gifts inside. Her intent was to make everyone around her feel especially loved, as she listened to problems, gave advice and strengthened the broken hearted. She never spoke of taking a decorating class but her home was always presented as a beautiful masterpiece that could have been on the cover of Better Homes and Gardens magazine. She loved the finer things of life. She was a person that knew how to communicate and make things happen for those around her as she wore so many different hats. Mom, wife, aunt, sister, or business woman, CFO or company representative. The title didn't matter her integrity and wisdom with her elegant attire got everyone's attention. Her style and confidence made the way for interaction with all people from the least to the greatest and because of this she received favor from God and man.

Naomi leaves to cherish her loving memory: her beloved children: Serome (Rosalyn), Knightdale, NC, Tyrone Badger, Garner, NC, Sheila Badger, Rocky Mount, NC; Five grandchildren: Jazmin Badger, Serome Lamont Dobbin, Joshua, Zachary Dobbin and Tamika Freeman; four great-grandchildren: Brothers Silas Dobbin (Rosetta), Raleigh, NC, John B. Dobbin (Ellen), Benson, NC and sister Williemae Montague, Benson, NC. Brother Joseph Dobbin and sister Annie Mae Evans preceded her in death. She leaves a host of nephews, nieces relatives and friends that will cherish every memory.
