Nels Royden Nordquist was a caring and devoted husband, father, uncle, brother and friend. He passed away unexpectantly on Feb 6th, 2022 with his wife by his side. Nels was 59 years old.

On March 28 1962 Nels was born to Albert and Edith Nordquist in Wellsboro Pennsylvania.  He grew up in the Allegheny Mountains with many siblings enjoying hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities. Nels moved to North Carolina in the 1990's to learn the electrical trade. He moved to Raleigh in 2015.

Nels worked as a licensed electrician. He owned his own company and often volunteered his time and supplies to help out charitable organizations like the Healing place in Raleigh.  He prided himself on being a good friend and mentor to those struggling with addiction.

Nels married Korin Hardy in 2019, becoming a Stepfather to Celeste. Nels had 2 daughters from a prior marriage, Ashley and Lyndey.  Nels had a large family including his sisters: Dottie, Peggy, Nancy, Jane and Gayle (deceased). As well as his brothers Albert"Nork", Steve, and John.  Nels was the youngest of all the children.

Nels enjoyed outdoor activities like hunting, fishing and camping. He followed Nascar and Football avidly. Nels enjoyed cooking and never missed bringing special Swedish recipes to family events. Nels had a great sense of humor, and would readily help a friend in need. Nels will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
