Nina Ann Womble King of Raleigh, NC went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 2, 2018. She was born February 21, 1919 in Apex, NC to parents Bernice Lynwood and Hattie (Kelly) Womble. Nina was married April 4, 1942 to Robert Gordan King.
Nina was full of life, loved to entertain her family and always had a warm smile and hearty laugh. She also had a great affection for her cats. For 20 years she worked at Hudson-Belk and since 1950 was an active Charter member of Carolina Pines Baptist Church.
Nina is survived by her son, Robert Daniel King and his wife Debbie of Panama City, FL; granddaughters Tiffany Sloan and her husband Peter of Surf City, North Carolina, Bridget Lipawen and her husband Mark of Panama City, Florida. Her great-grandchildren, Drew Lowdermilk and his wife, Amanda of San Francisco, California, Lyndsay Lowdermilk, of Surf City, North Carolina, Caroline Reyes and Hannah Reyes, of Panama City, Florida. Niece Brenda Beavers, of Green Level, North Carolina and nephew Eddie Hobby of Sneads Ferry, North Carolina; and cousin Mary Louise Holt.
Preceded in death by her parents, Bernice Lynwood and Hattie Mae Womble, husband Robert Gordan King, daughter Barbara Ann Bain; sister, Christine Howard; brothers, Robert Womble, Wade Womble, James Womble and Roy Womble; and niece, Dorothy Mae Womble.
Friends and family are welcome to a viewing from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM and her service will be graveside Friday July 6, 2018 at 10:00 at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603.
In lieu of flowers, memory contributions may be made to Carolina Pines Baptist Church, 2655 S. Saunders Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.
