Obituary of Nina Vevurka
Nina Kriloff Vevurka, 90, of Willow Spring, died Saturday, April 23, 2011.
Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Montlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Monday.
A native of Russia, Nina was born in Siberia three years after the Russian Revolution began and immigrated to China and lived in Ten Tsein and Shanghai where she met her future husband, Marine Corps officer Simon Vevurka. They immigrated to the United States in 1946, moving to Indiana where she and Simon raised their family. She moved to Raleigh in 1965 and then to Florida before finally returning to Garner in the early 1990's. Her beloved husband of 60 years, Simon, preceded her in death in 2005.
Nina is survived by her sons, John W. Vevurka and his wife Lynn of Englewood, CO, Robert M. Vevurka and his wife Jenny of Raleigh and Michael A. Vevurka and his wife Tami of Willow Spring as well as seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
