Nydia Del Carmen Gonzalez Casanova Dudley, 86, of Garner NC, beloved mother and grandmother.  Sadly, left this world peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on August 29, 2024, in Wake Forest at her daughter's home.

Nydia was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico November 7, 1937 to her loving mother Margarita Casanova Gonzalez and father Nestor Gonzalez.  Nydia graduated from the University of Puerto Rico.

Nydia's career was exemplary. She loved her career as a hospital dietician in New York and North Carolina.  She also worked as a Spanish teacher in the Cary School District as well as a Spanish translator at a private medical office.

Nydia's hobbies and interests included planting flowers, crossword puzzles, planning trips to the beach and traveling with her family.  Above all Nydia loved children.  Upon seeing children, she always made it a point to smile, greet, and bless the children that crossed her path.

Nydia was a wonderful wife for 37 years to her loving husband DL Dudley Jr.  They were members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Clayton, NC.

Nydia is survived by her Daughter Sabine G Hight, her Grandson Andrew Hight who reside at Wake Forest, Bonus Daughter Sherri Scott (Johnny) of Garner, NC.  Sister Gloria Gonzalez Cassanova Bishop of Simpsonville, SC and Brother Wilfredo Gonzalez (Candida) of Cinnaminson, NJ. as well as her Nieces, Nephews, and many friends.

All who knew Nydia are left to cherish a life well lived and loved. We will also cherish her with fond memories of a special women who had a beautiful soul and loved life to the maximum.  May she rest in eternal peace, as she is now celebrating with her Husband DL Dudley, Mother Margarita Casanova Gonzalez, Father Nestor Gonzalez of Philadelphia, PA, her Brother Nestor M Gonzalez Casanova of Durham NC and her Niece Judith Gonzalez of Philadelphia, PA.

May we fondly remember Nydia when we see flowers in bloom and in the smiles of small children. That her zest for life continues in all those whom she has touched.
