Obituary of Odessa Immerdauer

Mrs. Odessa Maynard Immerdauer, 90, of Raleigh, died Thursday afternoon, November 20, 2008.

A private graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at Montlawn Memorial Park.

A native of Missouri, Mrs. Immerdauer was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She, along with her late husband, Bernard Immerdauer, served in the diplomatic corps of the United Nations at posts in Haiti, Brazil and Uganda. After their retirement she lived in Raleigh for the past 40 years where she volunteered with Meals on Wheels and was a patron of the arts including the North Carolina Symphony and the North Carolina Museum of Art as well as a benefactor of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina Public Television.

Mrs. Immerdauer is survived by her niece and loving care giver, Lexa Peltier of Huntsville, Texas; nephews, Albert Wilson of Freeport, Texas and Aaron Wilson of Angleton, Texas; her adopted niece and nephew, Barbara Kellogg of Simi Valley, California and Gregory Thompson of Los Angeles, California and several great nieces and nephews.
