Oleta Voyles Saparilas went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Transitions Life Care of Wake County. She was born in Greensboro, NC on February 2, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Edgar and Ola Kilby Voyles. She graduated from Cary High School in 1963 and Troutmans College of Hair Syling in 1964.
Oleta married Gus Dino Saparilas on April 8, 1967 in Cary, NC. She followed her dreams and became a successful hair stylist. She had a devoted and faithful following for almost 50 years. Throughout her career she won many hair styling awards. Oleta loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a people-person and had an infectious laugh. She was always the life of the party.
Oleta and Dino had a little dog named Benjamin Oliver who brought them much love and joy for many years.
Oleta was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Dino Saparilas on March 9, 2016 and her brother, Eddie Newton Voyles. She is survived by her niece, Sonja Voyles of Raleigh, NC; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Voyles of Swansboro, NC and Elaine Prewitt of Raleigh, NC.
A memorial service celebrating the lives of Oleta and Dino will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Carolina Pines Baptist Church, 2655 South Saunders Street, Raleigh, NC 27603. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am. Interment to be held immediately following services at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh.
