Olive Lloyd Gooch, 94, of Raleigh, passed away on April 28 at Sunrise at North Hills. Olive was born in Raleigh to Van Buren and Florence (Horton) Lloyd. In 1947, she married Army veteran James Edward Gooch. James's work took the family to South Carolina and Georgia, but they retired to Raleigh in 1983. Olive spent several years as a bookkeeper, but her great love was her family. She was a fantastic Southern cook. She was preceded in death by her husband and six siblings.

She is survived by daughter Peggy of Columbia, SC; son Allen (Mary Dow Ryerse), grandson Davis (Abby), great grandsons Eddie and Bobby, all of Minneapolis MN; and several nieces and nephews.
