Ophelia Jones Carroll, 95, died on Monday, March 6, 2017. Born December 17, 1921 to W. H. Jones and Henrietta Stephenson Jones, she was his ninth child and her second. She was also preceded in death by her husband Willie Carroll; Great-grandson Joshua.

Ophelia retired from Southern Bell in 1980.

She is survived by her daughters: Barbara and husband Mark Beasley, Judy Johnson and partner David Rambeau, and Cathy Johnson and her fianc Barney Langley. Grandchildren; Amy Matthews and husband Daniel, Jennifer VanderVelde and husband Rudy, Karen Haddock and husband Jeremy, Sarah Byrd and husband James, Dana Johnson, Tracy Johnson, Kevin Johnson and Luke Johnson. Great-Grandchildren: David and Shelby Matthews, Matthew, Hailey and Lucas VanderVelde, Jeremiah and Elijah Haddock and Katelyn and Kinsley Byrd. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 9th from 2:00 -3:00 at Montlawn Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Montlawn Memorial Park.
