Obituary of Otis Honeycutt

Otis Linwood Honeycutt, Jr. 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 16, 2015. He was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from Norfolk Southern Railway after over 30 years of service. Otis was a longtime member of Inwood Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Treasurer as well as numerous other positions of service to his Savior, his church family and his community.

In addition to his parents, Otis L. Honeycutt, Sr. and Lizzie Cooley Honeycutt, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Sommerville Honeycutt and his daughter, Doreen Stewart.

Surviving are his sons, Rex Honeycutt and wife Arline of Apex, Lin Honeycutt and wife Cindy of Raleigh and Jeff Honeycutt and wife Stephanie of Raleigh; sister, Willie Kelly of Raleigh; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday at Inwood Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Montlawn Funeral Home from 7-9 pm Wednesday.
