Ottis D. McLamb
Mr. Ottis Devaughn McLamb, 77, of Garner, died Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Lifecare Hospital of NC in Rocky Mount.
Funeral Service will be 7 p.m. Friday at The Capital Church, US 70, Garner. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Roseboro.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the church prior to the service.
A native of Sampson Co., Mr. McLamb was the son of the late Ottis and Lillian Lockerman McLamb. He was a superintendant with Centurion Construction Company and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean conflict receiving the Purple Heart for being wounded in combat.
Ottis loved his wife, children and grandchildren more than life itself, loved to work, and loved his dog, "Foxy", his cat "Kitty Kitty" and his goat, "Pike" and most importantly he was the most giving man in the world.
Ottis is survived by his wife, Gracie Edwards McLamb; children, Tammy Raynor of Spring Hope, Terry Raynor of Fort Bliss, TX, Steve Raynor of Clayton, Robyn Perkerson of Spring Hope and Chris Raynor of Clayton; grandchildren, Melissa Nye, Devonna Nye, Jamie Nye, Turner Perkerson and Britney Raynor; great grandchildren, Leanna Stanley, Joseph Stanley, Alexis Harris, Maliyah Grace Eatmon; brothers and sister, Mossette McLamb, Joe Robert McLamb, Willette Naylor, Annette Davidson and Phyllis Herring as well as a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Mr. McLamb was preceded in death by his grandson, Clint Alan Brantley; brothers, Leamon Brooks and Ellis Wayne McLamb; sister, Alimena Gibson, Treva Warren and Bridegette Zagorski; nephew, Nelson McLamb and niece, Sandra Przybylski.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lifecare Hospital for all the care and love shown to Devaughn and his family.
