Patricia Ann Fowler, age 77, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in Raleigh, NC after an extended illness. Pat, the fifth of six children, was born September 1, 1944 in Wake County to Lennie Drew Fowler and Rosaline Howard Fowler. She is predeceased by her parents and her only brother, Jimmy Fowler of Apex, NC.
Patricia's sisters include Mary Holloway, Millie Fowler, Clara Underwood and Sherry Ross(Leon) and many loving nieces and nephews who adored her and whom she adored. She was an integral part of every holiday celebration, every birthday party and every family event because she loved joyful get-togethers .
Pat experienced a devastating viral illness as a toddler which left her with multiple disabilities, obstacles to overcome and skills to relearn.
After many years, Patricia became a group home resident in Wake County, with specialized companies such as ACI and Advantage Care In Home Services.
Over the years, Patricia was blessed with many wonderful healthcare professionals who assisted the family in finding appropriate living situations and accommodations that she required. We have been thankful that Michele Steva with Wake County's Alliance Health lovingly and thoroughly oversaw many facets of Pat's life.
We are extremely grateful for Patricia's care staff who came to love her as we do, especially long-time group home manager Sylvia Morgan. We can never say thank you enough to the fine women who loved and supported Pat, attended to her medical needs and kept her spirits up once she was unable to walk after her stroke. You ladies will stay in our hearts for all you thoughtful kindnesses.
We also owe a debt of gratitude to the staff of Heartland Hospice for all the fine nursing/medical oversight Pat was given, especially by Maya Jackson, whose kindness and professionalism shone over the years. Pat was never in better hands.
Pat made us better people with her big smiles, her large inventory of jokes, her constant love of family and her love of caregivers who became extended family to her. In a world that can be harsh for special needs people, Pat found joy in God, country music and love for everyone.
