Obituary of Paul Pemberton

Paul Valentine Pemberton, 70, of Garner, passed away Thursday morning, September 6, 2012 at his home.

Born February 14, 1942 in Flint, MI, Paul was the son of the late Delbert Pemberton and Llyvada Powers Pemberton. In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his first wife, Raylene Pemberton; daughter, Michelle Pemberton; and brother, Doug Pemberton.

Paul is survived by his second wife, Charleen Thompson Pemberton; son, Phillip, Pemberton and wife Jennifer; daughters, Rachael Muise and husband Derrick, Paula Pemberton, Rosalie Hirsch and husband John; grandchildren, Christina Pemberton, Bradley Pemberton, Carrie Pemberton, Michael Johnson, Ashley Johnson, Paige Hirsch, McKenzie Pemberton, Courtney Pemberton, Derrick Christopher Muise; great-grandchildren, Landon Scott Brinke, Cayden King Kolbrenner; brother, Dell Pemberton; sisters, Christine Lundbum, Florence Pemberton, Jackie Pemberton; and many nieces and nephews.

Paul served his country in both the United States Army and Navy. He was a loving husband and father who brought joy to his family and friends, and loved to spend time with them whenever he could, and especially during the holidays. Paul had many interest, he went to aviation school in Flint, MI and received his aviation license. He loved to spend time taking care of his home in Hale MI, mowing the lawn on his riding lawnmower and taking out his pontoon on the lake. One of his greatest joys was collecting antiques and going to yard sales. Paul overcame many challenges in his life and displayed great courage and exceptional character through his struggles. He raised his four children alone for many years, and met his second wife, Charleen Thompson, in Flint, MI; they married June 23, 1984. Paul and Char spent the last year of his life with his daughter Rosalie and her family in NC. We send our love and prayers with him, and will hold the memory of him close to our hearts.
