Pauline Emma Williams, better known as "Ma", went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 22, 2019 at the age of 95. Pauline was born in 1923 in Johnston County, NC to Jim Johnson and Effie Weeks Johnson. She is survived by her brother, Charles Johnson and wife Mary of Orange City, FL; granddaughter, Erin Brooks Baluyot and husband Adrian of Cary, NC; grandson, Matthew Brooks and son-in-law, Wayne Brooks, both of Williamston, NC; grandson Chad Williams of Raleigh, NC; granddaughters Heather Williams and Tara Williams both of Asheboro, NC; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Battle Williams; son, Clyde Larry Williams; daughter, Vickie Brooks; and her parents, Jim and Effie Johnson.

Pauline was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family unconditionally. She was a special lady to many and helped care for family and friends during their time of need, always putting others before herself. She took pride in serving others and loved to cook a meal for anyone who would come and sit at her table. She battled throat cancer at the age of 80 and beat the odds of survival. She suffered the loss of both of her children and her sister in 2010, yet still had the will to continue living a long, full life. She had a bold love of life and had sincere compassion for others. Strong, yet kind, Pauline was an inspiration for everyone that knew her.

The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, March 26 from 11am-12pm with a service to immediately follow, both being held at Montlawn Funeral Home~2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC 27603.
