Peggy Holmes Reed

Ms. Peggy Holmes Reed, 68, of Raleigh, NC passed away February 26, 2009 at home.

Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Montlawn Memorial Park.

Peggy was born June 4, 1940, in Spring Hope to the late Vance and Fannie Carter Holmes. Peggy spent most of her life as a nurse, spending time at Dorthea Dix and most recently at Central Prison. Nursing was her passion and the only thing better to her was spending time with her family.

Peggy is survived by her sons Ronald, Russell, and Roger; grandchildren Christian, Bryan, Patrick, Jeffery, Ashley, David, Heather, Brittany, Tiffany, and Ryan; sister Ruby Strother; and her ex husband Thomas Reed. She was preceded in death by two brothers Eddie and Jessie Holmes, and three sisters Lottie Leavister, Joan Honeycutt, and Margie Frazier.
