Obituary of Ralph Tucker

Ralph Early Tucker, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Wake Med Cary Hospital.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed singing and playing his guitar. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf until his later years of declining health. He was truly loved and will leave a big void in the hearts of his family.

Mr. Tucker served in the US Army and in 1951 joined the NC State Highway Patrol and retired in 1984.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow with NC Highway Patrol Honors at Montlawn Memorial Park.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Ruth Bates Tucker; daughter, Loretta T. Mundy and husband Randy of Charlotte; sons, Ronnie S. Tucker of Benson and Michael A. Tucker and wife Janice of Raleigh; grandchildren, Kimberly Gonzalez, Angela Tucker, Benjamin Tucker and Suzanne Radford; brother, Emmett Tucker of Mt. Airy; sister, Myrtie Snyder of King.

The family wishes to thank all his neighbors and friends who offered help through his final days and also a special thank you to Misty, Hallie and Katy of Home Instead for the care they gave to him.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
