Obituary of Randy Strickland
Randy Strickland, 48, of Morrisville, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at his home after a long battle with AIDS and a mercifully short battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Randy's life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday in the Montlawn Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
A native of Lee County, Randy was the son of the late Clyde and Beatrice Porter Strickland. Randy grew up on the Rockefeller Country Estate "Overhills" in Cumberland County where his father worked and was a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill.
Randy is survived by his partner, Canaan Huie; sisters, Brenda Williams of Broadway and Linda Holder of Mamers as well as his much loved canine companions "Bourbon" and "Stormie".
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alliance of AIDS Services-Carolina, P.O. Box 12583, Raleigh, NC 27605.
