Obituary of Ray Goodwin

Ray Emmett Goodwin, Jr.

Mr. Ray Emmett Goodwin, Jr., 88, of Raleigh, NC passed away February 28, 2009.

Funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Montlawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 to 12:00 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.

A native of Raleigh, Mr. Goodwin was the son of the late Ray and Lily Goodwin. He was a developer and chick hatcheryman, and ran hatcheries for many years before opening his own in Kenly.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Susie, his brother James, and a sister Ruth.

Ray is survived by his four daughters, Betsy Pearce and husband Jimmy, of Clayton, Nancy Bailey and husband Graham, of Clayton, Linda Amick and husband Charles, of Selma, and Mary Ann Pearce, of Raleigh; grandchildren Brian, Michael, Greg, Melissa, Chris, Doug, and Ricky; and numerous great grandchildren.
