Raymond W. Burton Jr., affectionately known as "Spike," passed away on September 11, 2025, at the age of 74. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Spike will be remembered for his kindness and his lifelong passion for NASCAR.

Born in Riverdale, Maryland to Raymond and Margaret Burton, Spike earned his nickname from his mother due to his childhood love of the Spike Jones Show. He touched the lives of many with his warmth and generosity, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Spike was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Polly. He is survived by his sister, Pat; his daughter, Ruth; son-in-law, Aaron; and grandchildren, Gabe, Noah, Nate, and Mikey.
