Obituary of Rebecca Nodden
Rebecca Morton Nodden of Raleigh, North Carolina, died Sunday, August 21, 2011, at Rex Hospital. Born in October 17, 1930 in Franklinton, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late King Duncan Morton and Susie Ella Peace Morton.
Ms. Nodden attended the public schools of Franklinton and graduated as salutatorian of her senior class. Following graduation, she attended Hardbarger Business College in Raleigh. Among her places of employment in and outside the state, she spent the last 20 years working at Al Smith Buick. She was a member of the Franklinton Methodist Church.
Ms. Nodden served on the board affiliated with wake county mental health group homes for several years. In addition, she was a member of the Ruth Bible Study which met at Church of the Holy Cross.
She is survived by two daughters, Wendy Leigh Harris of Raleigh and Kimberly Harris Cole of Centennial, CO; one brother, David Earl Morton and his wife Shirley, of Raleigh; one granddaughter, Danna Ashley Cole of Albemarle, NC; and a niece and nephew.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel.
