Reginald Derwin Lane, 58, departed the flesh on Monday evening June 15th, 2020 in Raleigh North Carolina after battling a long illness. He was born in Akron, Ohio to the late Sanford and Mabel Lane. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Sanford Lane Jr.
Reggie worked at North Carolina State University for 17 years before leaving due to his health. He was first introduced to the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research in 1984 where he became a devout member and remained active until his passing. During his tenure as an IDMR member, Reggie held several officer positions at the local and state level. His love and belief in Kinley was unwavering.
Reggie was a committed and loving husband, supportive father, and adored Papa. He was affectionately called 'Punkin' by family and given nicknames 'Bishop' and 'Billy Bob' by his sisters of the heart. He was an avid basketball fan, loyal to any LeBron James team. He was also a lover of music and collected his favorite albums.
Reginald leaves to cherish his memory: His wife Irma Lane. Two daughters, Candice and Lauren Lane. Two granddaughters, Zaria and Zanai James. Brothers Allan Lane, Myron (Lois) Lane, and Wilford Lane. Sisters, Carolyn Knight, Brenda Payne, and Sharon (Wyatt) Griffin. Special sister of the heart Ida (Jesse) Nunn and a host of nieces and nephews. many other relatives, and friends.
