Retha Morris Norman passed away January 10, 2018, her 84th birthday. Born in Burlington, NC to William and Eunice Morris, she was the oldest of 7 siblings; Clyde (deceased), Ross, Selma (deceased), Sylvia, Phil and Loraine. Mom was married for 60 years to Don Norman on January 27, 1956, who predeceased her in 2016. She leaves behind 2 children, Donna Bryant (Mike), Kim Shope (Gary), and 3 grandchildren Jenna Bryant, Matthew Bryant and Cameron Huskey.

Graduated from Elon College in NC, she was a middle/high school teacher and completed her career teaching severely and profoundly handicapped children in their homes. The latter was the greatest accomplishment of her career. She also enjoyed volunteering and helping others.

Mom's final wishes were no funeral services. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation or volunteer to help any program that supports disadvantaged youth.

Family and friends are invited to the home of Kim & Gary Shope at 1204 Westmoreland Drive, Raleigh, 27612, on Sunday January 28th for a celebration of life from 2pm - 5pm.
