Obituary of Retta Bennett

Ina Bennett, 89, originally from Wilkes County, currently from Raleigh, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 4, 2013 at her home.

Born January 6, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John Ivey Myers and Retta Billings. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Allen "Ace" Bennett and a brother, John I. Myers, Jr. Ina was a dedicated member of Inwood Baptist Church since 1954. She developed many friendships within her Inwood family which she cherished. Prior to her declining health, she was a member in the church choir for many years.

Ina is survived by her children, Gale Bennett of Raleigh, Peggy Bennett of Durham, Larry Bennett and wife Kim of Holly Springs, Ray Bennett of Raleigh; and grandchild, Christie Dinkins and her husband Billy of Greenville, NC.

The Bennett family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Theresa Thorpe for the loving care she gave Ina during the past year. Also a special thank you to Sue Price for her devotion to Ina.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Ina to the Inwood Baptist Church Building Fund, Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh, NC.

Private services will be held by the family at a later date.
